Biden Says No Change in Strategic Ambiguity Policy for Taiwan
24 May 2022
Biden’s clarification came after he told reporters on Monday that the US would intervene to defend Taiwan, comments that were quickly walked back by the White House. “Yes. That’s the commitment we made,” Biden said when asked if he would get involved militarily to defend Taiwan.
While known for his frequent gaffes, Biden’s pledge to defend Taiwan appeared to be a change in US policy as the comment was made during a high-profile visit to Japan, where the president was expected to take a firm stance against Beijing. But the White House insisted that Biden meant the US would support Taiwan by supplying it with weapons, which Washington has been doing since it severed diplomatic relations with Taipei in 1979.

Biden Made Final Decision to Keep Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Terrorist Blacklist
President Biden has made a final decision to keep Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) designated as a “foreign terrorist organization,” Politico reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed Western official.
The decision means a revival of the Iran nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA, is unlikely. The terrorist blacklist is a sweeping designation that means any current or former IRGC member is subject to US sanctions, and Iran wanted it lifted before the restoration of the JCPOA.

The Times report said the death toll was almost immediately known, and the strike was flagged as a possible war crime. WATCH: Battle for Mariupol
RT documentary. May 16, 2022, 34 mins.
Since February 2022, Mariupol residents had to hide in basements with no water, food or medicine, as Ukrainian forces failed to plan the mass evacuation of civilians. They are stationed in populated areas and use civilians as human shields. The tactic was not intended to win the battle but to extend the operation. The large civilian presence prevented Russian troops from making an active response. While retreating, Ukrainian soldiers fired on civilian buildings to pin the blame on Russian forces.
Russian troops took control of Mariupol in early May 2022. Today active combat in the city has ceased. In the film, viewers get to see actual footage of city combat, devastated streets and the real stories of civilians.
Today, the people of Mariupol can say they have survived hell. But at what cost?
